Professor Dr. Peter Frankenfeld is the head of the "Institute for European Regional Economy" and of the core theme "European Integration and Regional Economy" in the international course of studies National Economy ISVW at the HS Bremen.

Peter Frankenfeld studied National Economy and Political Science at the University of Marburg and finished both study pathes with the Diplom. During his five year function as an acadamic assistant at the FU Berlin he took his degrees as a Doctor of Economical Science.

Peter Frankenfeld was in the services of the northrhein-westphalian economical government department as a consultant for EU-Regional Programmes from 1990 to 1993. From 1993 on he was in charge of the entire european, national und regional economic policy in the direct service of the Senator for Economy in the state of Bremen. At the same time he was the main coordinator of research in the Regional Economic Science Institute Bremen BAW in personal union. In 1995 he was given the leadership of this institute as well as the conductorship of the planning department of the Senator for Economy Bremen.

1999 he took employment at the Hochschule Bremen as Professor of national economy, european integration and regional economy. At the same time Peter Frankenfeld was given the controllership of the "Institute for European Regional Economy".

During his conductorship he can refer to a great number of publicationsand Research Projects. Concurrently he is also working as a Consultant and advises numerous administrations and governments on local, state-, federal state- and european level. One of the core themes of his consulting lies in the advisory of middle and east european countries.
